Practice Dentistry till 1972. Joined as B. D.
S Dentist Government of Punjab, Pakistan in 1972. After 1978 served as Head of Department in many major cities. Came to Sialkot as Head of Department Dentistry at Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital District Sialkot in 1984.
He was one of the top 3 candidates selected by Government of Pakistan for scholarship to Freie University Berlin, Germany for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1990. During his course he observed that surgeons/instructors were facing hurdles in handling and operating with surgical instruments used in Surgeries. Being a dentist/surgeon, he did his homework on instruments and doctors/surgeons requirements.
On his vocations during the course he fly back to Pakistan and call for vendors, showed them the samples and guided them about changes needed to be done for ease of the surgeons. Unfortunately, he had to invest a lot of time to help makers/vendors understand the needs & requirements of surgeons on European Standards. But finally he made a break through and he took the instruments along to show the Professors/Surgeons/Instructors at Freie University, Berlin.
They were amazed with the quality and ease in handling of instruments. They asked if it is possible to get these such instruments in future, he replied that he will think about a solution. Dr.
Ilyas came to Pakistan after completing his course, along serving as Head of Department at Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital, Sialkot. He started doing research work on manufacturing surgical instruments and export process. After years of research on Surgical Instruments, in 1999 he founded SEVEN EIGHT SIRGIKAL (along with his Younger Son) with a sole purpose to fulfill the needs of End User/Doctors/Surgeons.
After sudden death of Dr. Ilyas in 2002, his son continued this company as C. E.
O to fulfill the dream of his father.
