Pak-German WWC Peshawar was established in 1971-72 under the technical & financial assistance of German Government for the promotion & development of wood working industry in the province. It is a sole Centre of its nature particularly in the province and generally in Pakistan. Its main and basic objective is to impart technical / wood technology in the province which is intact since its establishment. Till 1986-87, this Centre was supported by the German Government. After the German Government delegated the charge to the SIDB, and since then the SIDB supports and runs this Centre from its own sources. After meeting their goals and achieving their objectives successfully, Small Industry Development Board KPK installed local / imported machineries for enhancement of production capacity to meet the requirement of furniture’s in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for timely completion of the order received from education department and various Govt Department S.I.D.B established further eight Wood Working Centers at various location these entire Centers carrying their operation on self-sustainable basis at D I khan, Karrak, Timergara, Batkhela, Chitral, Swat, Mansehra and Haripur
