Nephrite is a gem, a variety of amphibol, along with jadeite called jade. (Jadeit is pyroxene. ) The color of gemstone nectrite is rich in spinach green, the mineral has a hardness of about 6-6. 5 degrees Mohs's scale, similar to quartz, but is more tenacious due to microcrystalline structure. After polishing it is very aesthetic with a perfect glassy finish.
It is mostly dark green in color, rarely white. Often knocked with jade.
This remarkable stone enjoyed great popularity especially in Babylon and old China.
Nephrite has been attributed to healing effects. Old Chinese people made jade from the jade they drank because they believed in his cleansing power.
