Years of Trade Legacy

Pakistan's Premier Export Promotion Organization

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) was established on November 8, 2006 under a Presidential Ordinance, with the Ministry of Commerce as its administrative ministry.

TDAP succeeded the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) as the country's lead institution for trade development. It functions as the bridge between Pakistani exporters and international markets — providing market intelligence, trade facilitation, and policy advisory to accelerate export growth.

With a focus on public-private coordination, TDAP broadens the export base, enhances supply capabilities, fosters an export culture, and encourages foreign investment across all sectors of the Pakistani economy.

Driving Pakistan's Export Growth

A Legacy That Spans Over Six Decades

Before TDAP, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) laid the foundation for Pakistan's export ecosystem — a legacy that still shapes our work today.

The EPB was created in 1963 as a department under the Ministry of Commerce. Over 43 years, it facilitated approximately 20,000 exporters and coordinated more than 2,000 trade delegations, growing Pakistan's exports from just under a quarter of a billion dollars in 1963 to nearly US $16.5 billion in 2005/06.
